The month of February ended on a high with a visit from the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda. In his visit the Amb’ toured several of woodball’s establishments including the administrative offices, our show room, and the woodball equipment factory at Ndejje Luweero district.
In his speech while on the tour the Amb’ promised support to the woodball game development in Uganda and Africa. UWbF is in the process of acquiring much better machinery which can produce at least 50 sets of woodball playing equipment per day. With that in mind the Amb’s visit came at a time when it was most needed.
In his speech the president UWbF, revealed the some developments in woodball including; “We have used Woodball, a Chinese invention to build “people-to-people bonds” in Uganda and Africa. We now have over 4,000 people playing Woodball in Uganda alone. The Africa Woodball Federation, which I head with a mandate of IWbF, so far has Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo as members.”
Mr. Paul M. Kayongo concluded by calling for support from the Chinese Amb towards woodball development on the African continent.
