Improving Uganda’s performance at the Woodball World Cup in China is the primary target for the Uganda team. This year, the Uganda Woodball Federation will field men, women, and youth teams, and Federation president Paul Mark Kayongo is confident in their ability to deliver outstanding results.
Reflecting on past achievements, Kayongo noted Uganda’s impressive performance at the 2018 World Cup held in Thailand, where the team finished second behind China. The Ugandan contingent bagged a gold medal in the women’s fairway event, five bronze medals, and a silver, showcasing their competitive prowess on the global stage.
“We are committed to making woodball Uganda’s leading sport. Our teams have been selected through a well-planned process, and we have all the confidence in them,” Kayongo said. “This year, we are including the junior team, which will not only strengthen our current lineup but also build for the future as our junior players gain invaluable exposure.”
