On April 17th, 2025, the Uganda Woodball Federation held a significant planning meeting under the theme: “Using Woodball Sport as a Tool for Rehabilitation” at Olive Schools Namugongo. This initiative marks a new chapter in the Federation’s mission to expand the impact of woodball beyond competition—towards healing, empowerment, and transformation.
Woodball for Rehabilitation: The Vision
The meeting focused on integrating the sport into rehabilitation-focused programs that target students, communities, and vulnerable groups. The idea is to use woodball’s discipline, focus, and teamwork to promote:
Social behavior change
Mental wellness
Confidence and personal development
Community reintegration for recovering individuals

This effort aligns with the Federation’s broader goal of making woodball a transformative and inclusive sport—not just one of competition, but also of healing and growth.
